Kung Fu Tai Chi magazine melebrates its 10 Year Anniversary with a benefit for the 2008 U.S.A. Olympic Wushu Team.

Beijing Olympics On Saturday, August 24th, 2002, we celebrated the 10 Year Anniversary of Kung Fu Tai Chi Magazine. Back then, it was under its former title of Kungfu Qigong Magazine; we switched to Kung Fu Tai Chi in 2003 because even our newsstand distributors could not spell or pronounce ‘qigong’. We celebrated our Anniversary with a Gala Benefit that raised $20,000 for the 2008 U.S.A. Olympic Wushu Team for the Beijing Games. It was the first ‘official’ project of the Tiger Claw Foundation and the beginning of our special committee, the Friends of Wushu.

This section is part of the special website that we posted to promote the Benefit. Beyond our auction, a special issue, and special commemorative items to generate donations, we held two Masters Demonstrations. In the afternoon we held a Feature Masters Demonstration for the public. In the evening, we held a Cover Masters Demonstration followed by our formal dinner and auction. Both demonstrations are still available in DVD and VHS; all proceeds are still directed to the Friends of Wushu.
