Shaolin Temple Wushuguan Struck by Lightning

  A brilliant bolt of lightning strikes the Shaolin Wushuguan, caught on film by Kungfu Qigong’s Associate Publisher (and Shaolin disciple) Gene Ching in 1995. This dazzling photo comes framed and mounted, signed by the photographer. To date, only 20 enlarged prints have been made. Shaolin Temple is the birthplace of Kungfu and Zen Buddhism; the Shaolin Wushuguan is the largest facility devoted solely to Martial Arts training in the world.

King Yue Sword

  Named after a famous warrior of China’s Three Kingdoms Period (220-265) this mighty sword was crafted the famous Dragon Well (Lungchuan) forge. It has an exceptional hollow-ground diamond-section blade (2” wide at the forte!)   This exquisite calligraphy makes an analogy to the second patriarch of Zen, Huike, who cut off his arm in the snow to show his resolve. It reads “The very brave builds a snowman, For peace of mind, cut off your arm, You can reach the highest level in the world, It is Chan (Zen), not fists.” Master Zhao Baohun is a famous calligrapher from Henan, where Shaolin Temple is located. Ed Parker Lithograph by Ed Parker Jr.

  One of the most seminal American masters was Ed Parker, the Father of American Karate and Founder of American Kenpo. Grandmaster Parker was heavily influenced by Chinese styles in the development of his art, and one of the first westerners to notice Bruce Lee. This beautiful portrait was created by his son, Ed Parker Jr. and includes a actual piece of Parker’s black belt. It is signed and numbered (99 of 200) and comes complete with a certificate of authenticity. 19” x 25” framed.

  This one-of-a-kind sword was donated by the Abbot of Shaolin Temple, Venerable Shi Yongxin. Engraved on one side is the Abbot’s name. On the other side are 100 characters for longevity. Adorned with dragons and the Chinese God of longevity, this combat steel sword was specially made just for our auction. Shaolin Temple is the birthplace of Kungfu and Zen Buddhism.
